Hybrid Technology

Ultrarapid microwave processing

The retort’s resistance heated base plate speeds up the ramping time to the pre-set processing temperature, followed by ultrarapid dehydration/ clearing steps carried out by microwave technology for faster turn-around.
Day Mode
Early in the day process on-demand, by microwave technology, urgent specimens and small biopsies in as little as 60-120 minutes. This operation will cover about 30-40% of the average lab workload. Specimens are ready for embedding, allowing same-day diagnostic reporting.

Conventional Processing

Pathos Delta can operate as a conventional overnight tissue processor with resistance heating only. Its parameters can be set to fit your specific workflow requirements or to fulfill all CAP/ASCO guidelines.
Night Mode
Late afternoon load any remaining specimens in your fixative of choice and set Delay Start.
In the early pre-dawn hours Pathos Delta will automatically start processing. All specimens will be ready to be embedded at the start of the workday.

Cost and Time Savings

The elimination of xylene has a substantial impact on the costs associated with disposing of toxic reagents, while also extending the lifespan of wax by up to a month. Furthermore, PATHOS Delta demonstrates lower alcohol consumption compared to conventional tissue processors.
The absence of pump in/out of wax, facilitated by the dedicated wax retort, eliminates the necessity for cleaning cycles at the conclusion of each processing run. This not only results in significant savings in reagent costs, but also improves timings, enabling operators to promptly initiate subsequent processing runs.
