Milestone funded a Research Grant to the Italian Ataxia Telangiectasia National Association (ANAT), established for the research, the prevention and the therapy of Ataxia Telangiectasia (AT), a rare genetic monoallelic recessive disease, with early onset, that causes severe disability, severe respiratory tract infections, proneness to malignancies hence shortening the life of the kids affected.
The association, initially entitled “Davide De Marini”, was founded in 1994 and in 2016 undertook a close and concrete collaboration among other associations present on the Italian territory, to join efforts in supporting the research on AT and creating a national network of associations, clinical and research centers. The reorganization and renewal work started at the end of 2016 and finished at the end of 2017. This has led to the adoption of a new social name, modification of Social Statute and renewal of the board of directors for the inclusion of the Italian families with AT.
